Avengers: Battle for Earth for the Xbox 360

Avengers: BFA (Rated T for Teen: Fantasy Violence,
Mild Suggestive Themes)

Recently, my family had the amazing experience of reviewing Avengers: Battle for Earth. Being a 13-year-old boy, but a 7-year-old at heart, I love superhero movies, games, and television shows. And I especially love the Avengers! It is hard for me to find a Kinect title that is suitable for a teenager, since so many are geared toward a younger fanbase. Also a lot of times, it is hard for my parents and I to agree on an appropriate title, since I have to do a lot of my gaming in front of my six year old sister.

Avengers: Battle for Earth is an amazing Kinect experience. Ubisoft does a great job of immersing you into the world of the Avengers. This is one of the most responsive Kinect games I have ever played! When you go to punch an enemy, you do not have to repeat your motion over and over, which is something I have experienced with other Kinect titles. Avengers: Battle for Earth looks great and plays great!

In Avengers: BFA, you can play by yourself, or with a friend, bringing even more enjoyment and replay value to the table! You and your friend both select your hero (or villain, your call) and then you battle in one of the game's vibrant, beautifully rendered courses. My personal favorite character was Venom, but my brother was more of an Iron Man fan.

I had a great time playing Avengers: BFA. It is one of the best Kinect experiences the Xbox 360 has to offer. I was very impressed by the graphics and gameplay, and was quite fond of the multiplayer. Ubisoft did a great job creating a very authentic, immersive, and all-around amazing super hero experience for Kinect for the Xbox 360. I, myself, have sunk hours into this game, and hours well spent may I add. Whenever my brother comes home from college, this is one of the great titles we choose to play with each other in the time that we have before he goes back. We are big into co-op games like Rayman Origins, but we love to go head-to-head sometimes, and see who is a more skilled gamer.

Avengers: Battle for Earth is a total blast, and a must have for Kinect owners! I would give this game a 10/10. I thoroughly enjoyed Avengers: Battle for Earth for Kinect for the Xbox 360!

Monster Jam at the IZOD Center

This past weekend, I attended Monster Jam at the IZOD Center. It was awesome! Monster Trucks like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, and Monster Mutt all did freestyle and tore up cars like they were wet tissues. The show had everything from donuts to one of the cars flying through the air.

This is about the fourth or fifth time that I have attended Monster Jam. It was my brother's first time seeing the monster trucks indoors, and he was blown away by the stunts that the drivers could pull off. I was also very impressed by their stunts. This was my favorite Monster Jam show that I ever attended. They have all been great, but this was just amazing!

Before the show, I attended the Party in the Pits, where I met all the drivers and got their autographs. You will see footage from the party in the video coming soon to YouTube.com/TheKingsVlogs. The video will be out sometime this week and it completely captures the amazing feeling you get when you are down in the pits with the trucks and drivers!

Overall, the show was spectacular and if you ever get the chance, you should definitely see Monster Jam at least once in your life. It is amazing and fun for all ages. I say that because I am a middle child, with a 21 year old brother and a 6 year old sister. We all loved the show, but if you're planning on bringing the little ones, I would recommend some ear plugs, or the tire shaped headphones that you can buy at the show. Monster Jam was an absolute great time!

The New York Times Travel Show

Last month, I got the chance to attend the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. When I arrived at the travel show, I saw all different kinds of stands and groups from places all around the world.

It was a great experience! I saw live animals like penguins at the SeaWorld display, and owls and possums at the Busch Gardens display. There were also fun activities to participate in, such as making a video in which you dance with penguins, or a video where you jump into arctic water or walk through a blizzard.

There were other activities also. There was a giant rock climbing wall and a trampoline that you could do flips on, due to being held in by two ropes. If you turned around at the top of the rock climbing wall, you could see the entire convention. It was great!

I had only been to the Javits Center once before, and that was for NYCC last year. And even though the travel show did not take up the whole convention center, I was still amazed at how much they had to offer.

All in all, I thought that the New York Times Travel Show was a blast this year. It is definitely something I will be checking out next year, hopefully along with NYCC 13. The travel show was a great experience and definitely an eye opener about cultures around the world!

Here is a short video I made about the New York Times Travel Show, featuring "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers
