Avengers: Battle for Earth for the Xbox 360

Avengers: BFA (Rated T for Teen: Fantasy Violence,
Mild Suggestive Themes)

Recently, my family had the amazing experience of reviewing Avengers: Battle for Earth. Being a 13-year-old boy, but a 7-year-old at heart, I love superhero movies, games, and television shows. And I especially love the Avengers! It is hard for me to find a Kinect title that is suitable for a teenager, since so many are geared toward a younger fanbase. Also a lot of times, it is hard for my parents and I to agree on an appropriate title, since I have to do a lot of my gaming in front of my six year old sister.

Avengers: Battle for Earth is an amazing Kinect experience. Ubisoft does a great job of immersing you into the world of the Avengers. This is one of the most responsive Kinect games I have ever played! When you go to punch an enemy, you do not have to repeat your motion over and over, which is something I have experienced with other Kinect titles. Avengers: Battle for Earth looks great and plays great!

In Avengers: BFA, you can play by yourself, or with a friend, bringing even more enjoyment and replay value to the table! You and your friend both select your hero (or villain, your call) and then you battle in one of the game's vibrant, beautifully rendered courses. My personal favorite character was Venom, but my brother was more of an Iron Man fan.

I had a great time playing Avengers: BFA. It is one of the best Kinect experiences the Xbox 360 has to offer. I was very impressed by the graphics and gameplay, and was quite fond of the multiplayer. Ubisoft did a great job creating a very authentic, immersive, and all-around amazing super hero experience for Kinect for the Xbox 360. I, myself, have sunk hours into this game, and hours well spent may I add. Whenever my brother comes home from college, this is one of the great titles we choose to play with each other in the time that we have before he goes back. We are big into co-op games like Rayman Origins, but we love to go head-to-head sometimes, and see who is a more skilled gamer.

Avengers: Battle for Earth is a total blast, and a must have for Kinect owners! I would give this game a 10/10. I thoroughly enjoyed Avengers: Battle for Earth for Kinect for the Xbox 360!

Monster Jam at the IZOD Center

This past weekend, I attended Monster Jam at the IZOD Center. It was awesome! Monster Trucks like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, and Monster Mutt all did freestyle and tore up cars like they were wet tissues. The show had everything from donuts to one of the cars flying through the air.

This is about the fourth or fifth time that I have attended Monster Jam. It was my brother's first time seeing the monster trucks indoors, and he was blown away by the stunts that the drivers could pull off. I was also very impressed by their stunts. This was my favorite Monster Jam show that I ever attended. They have all been great, but this was just amazing!

Before the show, I attended the Party in the Pits, where I met all the drivers and got their autographs. You will see footage from the party in the video coming soon to YouTube.com/TheKingsVlogs. The video will be out sometime this week and it completely captures the amazing feeling you get when you are down in the pits with the trucks and drivers!

Overall, the show was spectacular and if you ever get the chance, you should definitely see Monster Jam at least once in your life. It is amazing and fun for all ages. I say that because I am a middle child, with a 21 year old brother and a 6 year old sister. We all loved the show, but if you're planning on bringing the little ones, I would recommend some ear plugs, or the tire shaped headphones that you can buy at the show. Monster Jam was an absolute great time!

The New York Times Travel Show

Last month, I got the chance to attend the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. When I arrived at the travel show, I saw all different kinds of stands and groups from places all around the world.

It was a great experience! I saw live animals like penguins at the SeaWorld display, and owls and possums at the Busch Gardens display. There were also fun activities to participate in, such as making a video in which you dance with penguins, or a video where you jump into arctic water or walk through a blizzard.

There were other activities also. There was a giant rock climbing wall and a trampoline that you could do flips on, due to being held in by two ropes. If you turned around at the top of the rock climbing wall, you could see the entire convention. It was great!

I had only been to the Javits Center once before, and that was for NYCC last year. And even though the travel show did not take up the whole convention center, I was still amazed at how much they had to offer.

All in all, I thought that the New York Times Travel Show was a blast this year. It is definitely something I will be checking out next year, hopefully along with NYCC 13. The travel show was a great experience and definitely an eye opener about cultures around the world!

Here is a short video I made about the New York Times Travel Show, featuring "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers

Rayman Origins 3DS Review

Are you looking for a great adventure game for all ages to play? Or a game with a great sense of humor and amazing hand drawn animation? Well, look no further than the masterpiece known as Rayman Origins! With over 60 levels, the fun never ends! Up to four people can play at once, or you can take on the game solo. Either way, it is one the best side-scrolling experience the 3ds has to offer!

The game has quite a funny story. Rayman and his little group of friends snore in a rhythmic tune in the beginning of the game, irritating this old creature that lives near, who gets upset with them. Then, you are playing as Rayman, in a beautiful 3d world unlike any other game on the 3ds. This is a must have for any casual or hardcore gamer, or just someone with 10 minutes of downtime who needs something to do. Rayman Origins is spectacular, and possibly the best game out on the market for the 3ds!

The Verdict:

+Beautiful Environments

+Innovative Gameplay

+Fun Multiplayer

+Humorous Characters

10: AMAZING!

Sesame Place: The Count's Halloween Spooktacular

It's Halloween time at Sesame Place in Buck's County, Pennsylvania and you can see that from the second you walk in the entrance of the park. Things like pumpkins carved to be Sesame Street characters and Halloween decorations everywhere make this the best Halloween ever at Sesame Place! All the Sesame Place characters dress up in their Halloween costumes and put on shows as well as take pictures as they walk freely around the park. When I visited the park, I saw both of the two shows that they have, involving most of the characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes. The shows were spectacular and the park looked very nice with all of the Halloween decorations!

The Verdict:

+Halloween Decorations Everywhere

+Two Great Halloween Shows

+Halloween Parade

10: Spooktacular!

Six Flags Great Adventure Halloween 2012

Recently, I had the chance to visit Six Flags: Great Adventure to their park which has been overtaken with zombies and sinister clowns. Yes, this year, I attended Fright Fest. This was the first time I had ever gone to Fright Fest. It was really a great time. When the sun went down, the Awakening started in the back of the park by The Dark Knight rollercoaster. When the night began, they wheeled three hearses through the park and had a funeral. Then when they got to the main stage, the freaks gathered and brought Doctor Fright back to life. Then, they all started dancing to Thriller and the dance party started. I left during the dance party and headed back to Shipwreck Cove, where zombie pirates popped out for a good scare.

Then, I headed back by Frontier Adventures, which has been transformed into Bone Butcher Terrortory, where I was chased by a zombie who wielded a shovel and made sparks on the ground. Then, I saw the show that they had going on in the back, after taking a quick picture with my new undead best friend.

Zombie (Left) My Brother (Middle) Me (Right)
After a couple of terror trails, we headed to Circus Psycho, where clowns take over the whole entire boardwalk area and turn it into a nightmare for those who are scared of clowns. It was really a great time walking through this part of the park. It was a hilarious time with my brother, because the two of us were screaming at the top of our lungs. By the way, he's 21 and I'm 13, and it terrified us!

The Verdict:
+  8 Terrifying Attractions

+Lots of Terror Trails

+ 8 Horrifying Shows

+No More Whistle!

10: Horrifying!

I was able to try out their classic SmashBurger, as my family and friends got to try out the salads, hot dogs, and SmashFries. The food was delicious, and they also serve Haagen Dazs milkshakes!
